Ages 5-15 who performs acts of kindness for their community

Awards:

5 winners will receive $10,000 savings bond and a family trip to New York City, where they will receive their awards in Times Square with actress/model Tyra Banks as host. Another perk is a year's supply of AngelSoft Bath Tissue.

Eligibility:

Bronze award has a minimum age of 14 and requires 210 hours of service over at least 7 months. Silver award has a minimum age of 16 and requires 420 hours over at least one year. The Gold is awarded to 18-23 year olds and requires 840 hours over at least 2 years.

Eligibility:

19 years old or younger from all countries.

Awards:

Every month a news report written by a young person will be published by the Environment News Service. It will be translated into twelve different languages and distributed worldwide. The writers who get their work published will be awarded a sum of money and receive a byline.

13-19 years old.

Awards:

This award is for young people who have faced physical and/or emotional obstacles, reached out to make a difference to others, and ultimately helped themselves as a consequence. And this is what you could win:

  • A $5,000 scholarship for your higher education
  • A $500 grant to fund a project for National Youth Service Day
  • A collection of games from the best game company in the world, HASBRO
  • Ten semifinalists will each receive $500 to support a local service project for National Youth Service Day

  • Must be of Hispanic descent
  • Must be from one of the twelve cities invited to participate (see website)
  • Must be a high school senior or eligible for graduation in this year.
  • Must be a US citizen or permanent resident

Awards:

Each Regional Winner will receive a $2000 educational grant and the Hispanic Heritage Awards Foundation will make a $1000 contribution in the winner's name to the community service organization of his/her choice.

Awards:

The National Peace Essay Contest is intended to: promote serious discussion among high school students, teachers, and national leaders about international peace and conflict resolution today and in the future; compliment existing curricula and other scholastic activities; and strengthen students' research, writing, and reasoning skills. Your school, school club, youth, religious or community group must sponsor you. There must be a contest coordinator - someone in the school or community who can review essays and act as the key contact between participants and the Institute. If there is no designated coordinator at your school or organization, you may wish to approach a teacher, youth group leader, club sponsor, or other adult.
