• Document the results of your work - events, projects, number of people served, number of people involved, amount of money raised and donated.



• Do your homework. In other words, get to know the organization that is supplying the scholarship or grant you want - read, read, read!



• Sounds stupid, but make sure that you follow instructions.



• Make sure you fit the criteria.



• Get your application in on time.



• If you need references, get them early - not at the last minute.



• Remember that commitment to one thing is more impressive than a little time spent on 8 million different projects.
